“Weight of the Dark” fades from deep black to a soft gray – it is my way of painting with the hardest moments of stage 5 kidney disease. The exhaustion that feels endless. The loss of independence. The grief for the simple things I cannot do anymore – and the fear of what is still to come, even if I’m lucky enough to get a transplant.
It is about those really dark days, when it feels like there is no way forward – yet somehow, you still keep going.
